If anyone could, the Brokeback Mountain article on Fan History could use a bit of help. The article is an attempt to write a comprehensive history of the Brokeback Mountain fandom. Areas that need work include creating a list of fandom specific terms, getting a list of influential fanworks, documenting any fights in the fandom and developing a timeline of events that took place in the fandom.

Fan History is also trying to create a comprehensive directory of members of the Brokeback Mountain fandom. There are currently 87 articles to that effect. It would be nice to those articles expanded and more articles added.

Warmest Week of the Year – Part 10B (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

Rating: NC-17 for the story as a whole.
Pairing: Ennis/Jack

“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek.”
This tale is another one of my canon-based ‘missing moments’ stories taking place in May 1968. It is the account of the first fishing trip
after the initial reunion takes place in September 1967.

Warmest Week of the Year - Part 8A - "Blame it on the Rain"

"Slowly pulling away from Jack’s lips, Ennis continued to gaze at the beautiful man stretched beneath him. Taking everything in, from the dark hair, to the deep eyes, to every inch of the receptive body, Ennis gazed on Jack with countless thoughts trapped in his struggling mind, destined to live a quiet life behind the thoughtful shadows of his dark reflective eyes. For all Ennis could do in that moment was smile…a small, yet revealing smile that spoke louder and said more than any words could ever express."

NEW CHAPTER POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part 7C (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

"During such moments, Jack was afraid to close his eyes, breathe too quickly, or think too hard…for if he did, he might miss something significant. Time with Ennis had a way of confusing his senses. Their days together were painfully finite, yet beautifully eternal at the same time…limited to so few risings and settings of the sun, and yet so continuously timeless in spirit."

NEW CHAPTER POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part 7B (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

“The man tasted of loneliness and need, strength and fear, desire and denial. Ennis’ conflicting emotions were always so prevalent in his kiss, Jack tasting the pain and the agony right alongside the need and the joy. It was a palpable experience that brought Jack to his knees every single time they kissed, no matter if he was sitting or standing.”

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part 7A (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

“He held it for a moment quietly, the soft flannel fabric feeling warm and inviting between his rough calloused fingers. It was blue and green, large-checked in pattern, and a little worn around the collar and cuffs. It was clean, and yet it smelled of Jack. Ennis breathed deeply for a moment, squeezing the collar lightly with both hands, just barely resisting the urge to bring the borrowed shirt to his face and hold it there for a moment or two, just to breathe in the lingering scent of his friend.”

“Jack rubbed his face slowly back and forth across Ennis’ neck, pressing his lips to the man’s face, smiling at the look he’d just witnessed there, stretching the inimitable moment for as long as he could, before moving directly in front of Ennis’ spent body once more, reveling in the exhausted yet satisfied expression covering his best friend’s face.”

“Jack’s face hovered over Ennis’ lips teasingly, achingly close, as he lifted his right leg over and across, straddling Ennis’ sitting position, before pressing him all the way down to the ground, leaning forward with Ennis as he pushed him backward, kissing him avidly as he lay on top of him, Jack’s eagerness to explore Ennis’ dream laid open and bare in the full fervent kiss.”

NEW CHAPTER POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part 5 (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek.”
This story is another one of my canon ‘add-ins,’
taking place in May 1968. It is the account of
the first five-day fishing trip after the
initial reunion takes place in September 1967.

“The two men sat that way for a minute more, maybe two, not sure why, but not wanting to move just yet. Their combined breathing became the only sound in the tent, the nearby horses the only noise in the camp, as they sat for a while longer, lost for a spell in a strange new moment…a moment that required nothing more than this.”

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part 4 (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

This story is another one of my canon ‘add-ins.’
“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek,” in May 1968.

“Ennis grunted, shifting and pulling Jack away from the log, turning their bodies in order to drag Jack over in front of him, so the man was now leaning against him, his long legs stretched out in front, with Ennis’ equally long legs encircling Jack on both sides. Ennis let out a slow, satisfied sigh, pulling Jack tighter to himself. Jack closed his eyes, letting himself be pulled deeply into Ennis’ rough hold.”

NEW CHAPTER POSTING

“Warmest Week of the Year” – Part 3(Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

This story is another one of my canon ‘add-ins.’
“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek,” in May 1968.
There isn’t a reference to 1968 in the book or the film.
So, this story is entirely pulled out of my crazy mind. ;)

Jack pressed down harder on top of Ennis, denim to denim, feeling their mutual need already overwhelming the two of them, picking up exactly where they’d left off that last night in September…first by the fire, and then two more times in the tent.

Jack leaned down and pressed Ennis firmly into the dirt, letting his full weight pin the man, reaching down to kiss him hard and hungrily, the earlier ache in his gut finally subsiding completely, now that he had this man in his arms at last.

NEW CHAPTERS POSTING

Warmest Week of the Year – Parts 2A & 2B (Sequel to “Pine Creek”)

This story is another one of my canon ‘add-ins.’
“Warmest Week of the year” picks up after “Pine Creek,” in May 1968.

This chapter is one long flashback to Brokeback
focusing on the first week after FNIT.
I wanted to explore the possibilities of how things could have
developed for J & E, and also show emotional growth over time.
That is why the entire chapter is in italics,
with the exception of the final four paragraphs,
where we finally see who is having the flashback and why.
